Fréjus restricts traffic towards Italy. Works will continue until 30 May

From 20 to 30 May, short night-time traffic stoppages will be in place in the Fréjus Tunnel towards Italy. The disruptions apply to the France → Italy tube and may be important for carriers planning routes through the Alpine corridor.

Starting today, 20 May 2026, night-time traffic restrictions will apply in the Fréjus Tunnel towards Italy. The tunnel operator has published a schedule of short traffic stoppages related to technical works carried out in the France → Italy tube.

The disruptions are planned until 30 May and will take place mainly at night and in the early morning. The works are connected with the temporary traffic management system and securing works carried out inside the tunnel.
