France – Italy: Night Closures of the Mont Blanc Tunnel from May 18

From May 18 to 22, 2026, the Mont Blanc Tunnel will be completely closed overnight in both directions due to maintenance works. Carriers operating routes between France and Italy should take detours via other Alpine crossings into account, as well as possible extensions to transport transit times.

During the closures, traffic through the tunnel will be completely suspended in both directions.

Closure schedule:
❌ May 18, 2026 (Monday) from 7:00 PM until May 19 (Tuesday) at 6:00 AM
❌ May 19, 2026 (Tuesday) from 10:00 PM until May 20 (Wednesday) at 6:00 AM
❌ May 20, 2026 (Wednesday) from 10:00 PM until May 21 (Thursday) at 6:00 AM
❌ May 21, 2026 (Thursday) from 10:00 PM until May 22 (Friday) at 6:00 AM

The closures apply only during nighttime hours; however, in practice, they may also affect traffic flow during the morning hours, particularly on the access routes on both the French and Italian sides.
